After 21 years in the Kings Cross location, Lou’s Place was bursting at the seams and was having to limit the number of people they can have in the house, the activities they can run, the number of people they can feed and ultimately, the number of women they can help.
Upon discussions with the General Manager and Marmalade Foundation Board, an opportunity to support the fit out of the new venue was identified, particularly regarding the kitchen appliances.
The KX Rotary Club raised $6,000 to donate 2 industrial freezers and a microwave to help fitout the new kitchen.
